API Leisure & Lifestyle will not accept liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damages, resulting from your use, transactions upon, or your inability to use the API Leisure & Lifestyle website.
API Leisure & Lifestyle means and includes all of the following entities: API (QLD) Inc., API Promotions Pty Ltd. and API Travel Pty Ltd.
1.2 The API Leisure & Lifestyle website contains links to other websites operated by third parties. These links are not under API Leisure & Lifestyle’s control and we take no responsibility for the conduct of these entities. We highly recommend you to refer to the relevant advertiser for all information regarding the advertiser and its products and/or services.

2.1 Before ordering any goods from API Leisure & Lifestyle, please take the time to read our terms and conditions, which govern the use of our website and the purchase of any goods, including membership, from it.
2.2 If you have any questions about the goods or wish to clarify the meaning of any of these terms and conditions, please contact us prior to ordering them from this website.
3. Acknowledgment and Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
3.1 The following terms and conditions, along with site policies such as the Privacy Policy and other policies, govern the use of this website. By accessing or browsing the site or placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.
3.2 These terms and conditions are subject to change from time to time without notice. Each transaction will be governed by the terms and conditions in force upon the date of that transaction.
4. General
4.1 The goods and services offered for sale are only available for purchase by individuals over the age of 18 years.
5. Membership
5.1 API membership allows for various discounts on goods or services as stated in the website. API membership provides those benefits to the member and the member’s partner and dependents (under 18 years of age). Membership is for a minimum of 12 months.
5.2 Ordering goods: All orders placed by you are an offer of purchase and are subject to acceptance by API Leisure & Lifestyle. If an order is not accepted a full refund will occur at the earliest possible convenience. API Leisure & Lifestyle reserves the right to accept or reject your order for any reason, including, without limitation, the unavailability of goods, an error in the price or the goods description posted on the website, or an error in your order.
5.3 Prices of goods and services and delivery and other charges displayed on the website are current at the time of issue, but may change at any time and are subject to availability. The availability of goods and services may change from time to time.
5.4 Upon purchase of goods, the buyer agrees to use the goods only for the intended purpose for which they were produced/created. API accepts no responsibility for loss or damage arising out of their use.
6. Payment
6.1 API Leisure & Lifestyle is under no obligation to ship any goods ordered until payment for those goods has been received and cleared. In the case of payment by cheque, this would mean the clearing of funds. All prices listed are inclusive of any Australian Goods and Services Tax applicable.
7. Returns
7.1 All purchases are final and no responsibility is taken for lost, damaged or expired goods.
8. Copyright
8.1 All content on this site, including text, icons, graphics, etc are the property of API Leisure & Lifestyle or its suppliers. No part or portion of this site may be copied, sold or used in any manner for any purpose without written consent from API Leisure & Lifestyle.
9. Viruses online
9.1 API Leisure & Lifestyle assumes no responsibility and shall not be liable for, any damages to, or viruses that may infect, your computer equipment or other property on account of your access to, use of or browsing in the API Leisure & Lifestyle website, or on your downloading of any materials, data text, images, video or audio from this website.
API FUEL CARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Fuel Cards are available only to members (and their dependents) of the Australian Post-Tel Institute (API Leisure & Lifestyle) and participating Employee Benefits Program members. The card is for domestic use only, and to a limit not exceeding $1000 per month per vehicle. All vehicles will be billed on the one account.
2. StarCard is valid at all participating Ampol, Caltex, 7Eleven and various independent outlets Australia-wide. Cardholders receive a discount on the following: Unleaded, Super, Vortex, LPG and Diesel.
3. Shell Card is valid at all participating Shell outlets Australia-wide and offers the convenience of cash-free transactions.
Cardholders never pay more than the pump price and can receive discounts in regional areas: i.e. 2.5 cents a litre off the Shell posted price.
4. Members may apply for up to three vehicles per family. There is no upfront application fee only a $1.10 per month account service fee (which covers all vehicles).
5. Each Fuel Card is valid only for the nominated vehicle. The number plate of the vehicle is included on the card for identification at the petrol station. Petrol station will refuse to accept non-compliant cards. (Please notify API of replacement of vehicles, so that a new card, bearing correct registration, can be issued.)
6. The member in whose name the account is shown, agrees to remain responsible for all debts incurred and charges made on cards issued in the cardholder’s name until the card is returned or surrendered to API Leisure & Lifestyle.
7. Payment of Fuel Card accounts is by Direct Debit only. Please complete and sign the Direct Debit Request Form and read the Terms and Conditions.
8. Each month the cardholder will receive an account detailing every transaction, the litres purchased and the amount due. All accounts will be paid on or by the due date appearing on the statement. Failure to pay by the due date will authorise API to cancel any or all cards in the cardholder’s name. A First and Final notice letter may be issued to overdue accounts.
9. The applicant acknowledges that a small transaction fee by the fuel supplier is applicable each time the fuel card is utilized: 38 cents for Caltex and 50 cents for Shell.
10. A member may withdraw from the scheme at any time without penalty upon payment of all outstanding monies and the return of all cards to API Leisure & Lifestyle.
11. The loss or destruction of a card shall be reported immediately to API. Failure to notify loss of a card shall be at the risk of the cardholder and not API Leisure & Lifestyle.
Fuel Card Privacy Act Authorisations/Agreements
12. I understand that a credit worthiness investigation may be made by API in accordance with the Privacy Act.
13. Acknowledgement and authority that credit information may be given to a reporting agency I acknowledge that API Leisure & Lifestyle has informed me, in accordance with Section 18E(8)(c) of the Privacy Act 1988 that certain items of personal information about me contained in this application to be kept on a credit information file might be disclosed to a credit reporting agency.
Information includes:
• the fact that I have applied for a Fuel Card facility with a defined limit
• the fact that API Leisure & Lifestyle is providing this facility
• information that, in the opinion of API Leisure & Lifestyle, I have committed a serious credit infringement that is fraudulent or shown an intention not to comply with my credit obligations
- that the credit provided to me by virtue of the Fuel Card facility through API Leisure & Lifestyle has been paid or otherwise discharged
14. Authority for API Leisure & Lifestyle to obtain credit information. In making this application I agree in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs (b), (e) and (h) of Section 18K (1) and/or Section 18L (4) of the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 that:
• disclosure by a credit reporting agency and/or
• use by API Leisure & Lifestyle of the relevant information referred to in those sections may occur for the purpose of assessing this application.
15. Authority to exchange information with other credit providers. In accordance with Section 18N (1)(b) of the Privacy Act, I authorise API Leisure & Lifestyle to give to and obtain from credit providers named in this Fuel Card application and credit providers that may be named in a credit report issued by a credit reporting agency information about my credit arrangements. I understand this information can include any information about my credit worthiness, credit standing, credit history or credit capacity that credit providers are allowed to give or receive from each other under the Privacy Act 1988.
I understand the information may be used for the following purposes:
• to assess an application by me for the Fuel Card facility
• to assist me to avoid defaulting on my credit obligations
• to assess my credit worthiness
You have appointed API Travel Pty Ltd as your travel agent to carry out travel related bookings. These booking conditions apply:
1. Privacy Protection
You consent to the collection and storage of your personal information by API Travel Pty Ltd. Personal information about you, provided by you and other sources, is protected under Privacy laws. Disclosure of such information may be compelled by law. You also authorise us to disclose such information where necessary to others in furtherance of your travel related arrangements. Where you have provided API Travel Pty Ltd with information about another person, you agree that you will make sure that person is aware you have supplied API Travel Pty Ltd with their information. 2. Charter for Safe Travel - Advice to the Traveller
For overseas travel, we recommend you visit and register at www.smartraveller.gov.au to receive regular updates about specific events and travel risk issues that may affect your travel arrangements. API Travel Pty Ltd cannot be held responsible, or provide compensation, in the event that you are unable to travel or to continue travel arrangements due to such events or issues.
3. Booking Deposit Is Required
In addition to deposits required by airlines, tour operators, hotels and other service providers, API Travel Pty Ltd requires a deposit to be paid to it. These deposits are due at the time of your booking request and are non refundable in the event of a cancellation.
4. Final Payment To Be Paid When Due
We will notify when the balance of payment is due as specified by the travel provider. When no time is advised, we require balance of payment 60 days prior to departure.
5. Price Changes May Occur
Prices are quoted in Australian dollars, based on current rates, fares and tariffs at the time of signing this booking form. The airline, tour operator, hotel and other service providers will notify any changes affecting the price when a booking is made and reserve the right to levy a surcharge at any time before travel arrangements commence. These surcharges include, but are not restricted to, government taxes, insurance, security, administration and environmental levies, currency fluctuations and fuel surcharges.
6. Fees for Service and for Amendments/ Cancellations
API Travel Pty Ltd charges fees for service in accordance with its Terms of Trade & Schedule of Fees. In the event you cancel or amend your booking, you will be charged cancellation and amendment fees by airlines, tour operators, hotels and other service providers. In addition, API Travel Pty Ltd will charge you cancellation and amendment fees to cover loss of commissions and communication costs.
7. Tour & Cruise Booking Conditions Apply
Specific booking conditions apply to tours and cruises. Your travel consultant will point out some of these conditions at the time of confirmation, including advance purchase requirements and cancellation clauses. Please ensure when signing this booking form that you have read and fully understand the booking conditions that apply.
8. Travel Insurance Is Required
Travel insurance is required for your protection, particularly for overseas travel. Travel insurance covers events such as cancellations, delays, loss of baggage and personal effects, injuries requiring medical and hospital assistance and repatriation. Often, travel insurance provides the only compensation for these events.
API Travel Pty Ltd is an authorised agent for Travellers Assistance and QBE Travel Insurance and it cannot provide specific advice upon travel insurance. You should refer to the respective Product Disclosure Statements before choosing to purchase any Travel Insurance.
If you have any pre existing medical conditions you will be required to complete a Medical Appraisal Form and authorization for cover will need to be received from the Insurance company. A surcharge to your premium may apply for pre-existing medical conditions.
9. Passport and Visa Requirements
You must hold a current passport for international travel. We need to sight your passport or receive a photocopy of the inside page to verify that it is not only current, but has 6 months validity during the travel (some countries have this entry requirement). A tourist visa is required in some countries, but not in others for holders of Australian passports. We can assist in tourist visa applications. Visa processing fees apply. API Travel Pty Ltd is not responsible for, nor can it provide compensation for rejected visas, late applications, incomplete forms, mail disruptions or any actions taken by consulates relating to your application.
9.1 Disclosure: You must ensure your Australian passport has a validity of six months after your return date to Australia and advise us if you wish us to make any necessary visa application on your behalf. In the event that you are travelling to a country or countries which do not require a visa for Australian passport holders, you must tell us if you have been arrested or convicted in respect of any offence or breach of law. Non disclosure of this information may lead to your being refused entry on arrival in certain countries. In that event, we take no responsibility whatsoever.
If you do not wish to disclose such information to us, then you must contact the embassy of each country of destination and make your own arrangements in regard to entry to that country.
10. Medical and Health Regulations
Travel can increase health and medical risks, Airlines, cruise lines and tour operators warn of health and medical risks on their websites. Care must be taken with the supply of and carriage of pharmaceuticals whilst travelling. We recommend that you seek advice from your medical practitioner or visit a recognised travel medicine clinic, see www.thetraveldoctor.com.au or www.tmvc.com.au
11. Responsibility
Your travel arrangements are subject to the booking conditions of the travel provider. API Travel Pty Ltd is responsible for advising upon travel arrangements and making the bookings. API Travel Pty Ltd is not responsible for loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by airline and other transport delays or reschedules, or for airline insolvency, loss or damage to person, property or delays, accidents, acts of war and force majeure impacting upon your travel arrangements.

API HOLIDAY HOMES TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TENANCY
1. Deposits: Members will be required to pay a deposit to secure their booking. Check at time of booking when the deposit is due.
2. Units are available for booking by MEMBERS and EMPLOYEES OF CORPORATE PROGRAMS ONLY. Other persons may accompany members, subject to the maximum number of persons allowed.
3. Bookings are not transferable. Any member finding he/she is unable to avail him/herself of booked accommodation should contact the API Member Service Centre immediately. SUBLETTING IS NOT ALLOWED.
4. CANCELLATIONS will only be accepted in writing. Refund of deposits or full rental will be considered individually on receipt of written notice of cancellation (refer to Booking Advice form).
5. Tenancy is restricted to two weeks during school holiday periods. At other times a maximum of three weeks, and minimum of one week, applies.
6. At most locations the period of tenancy is from 1pm Saturday to 9.30am on the Saturday of departure. No admittance to units will be allowed before 1pm on arrival to allow cleaning and inspection by the caretaker. You must vacate the unit by 9.30am. Some locations allow stays of less than one week, please check when booking.
7. The maximum number of persons permitted is as follows: 2 bedroom unit: 4 persons. 3 bedroom unit: 6 persons. Overloading of units is a breach of Council By-Laws as each unit is registered to accommodate a certain number. Inspections are carried out from time to time by council inspectors and API Management.
8. A minimum cleaning fee of $75 will be charged if the following cleaning is not carried out satisfactorily:
1. Vacuum floors
2. Mop kitchen, bathroom and toilet floors
3. Clean bath, shower recess and wash basin
4. Clean toilet
5. Clean stove/grill/oven thoroughly
6. Clean kitchen sink
7. Defrost refrigerator, remove all foodstuffs and any excess water, thoroughly clean and leave switched on low.
8. All rubbish and left-over food stuffs to be disposed of in council bins outside.
9. Damage: All damages to the unit or contents (including furniture and soiling of the mattress) must be paid for by the member.
10. Conduct: The member is responsible for the conduct of all guests and must ensure that no inconvenience or annoyance is caused to other tenants or neighbours. Parents are responsible to ensure that children do not soil mattresses. Plastic protectors should be used as a precaution.
11. Electrical Appliances: Please read instructions before using appliances. Any electrical problems or other complaints should be referred to the caretaker.
12. Pets: Animals or pets (including birds) are not allowed on the Holiday Home unit site or in the unit.
13. Rubbish Disposal: Please ensure rubbish is placed in the bins provided, and that all scraps are wrapped.
Please also note:
Linen: Whilst all Holiday Homes are self-contained and provide almost everything you need, linen is not provided, that is, sheets, pillow cases, tea towels, and bath towels. You will need to take these with you. In some locations, you can hire linen; please check at the time of booking if you require linen. You will find pillows in your unit as well as freshly laundered pillow protectors and mattress protectors. Your unit is also supplied with blankets.
Cots and High Chairs: These are available on request at all properties subject to availability. (NSW Holiday Homes require a small fee.)
The caretaker is responsible for the general oversight of the area and is authorised to see that these Conditions of Tenancy are complied with. Should you encounter any problems please contact the caretaker. Information and phone number are provided in the unit.
API DIRECTORY DEALS AND DISCOUNTS
The following terms and conditions apply to all API Leisure & Lifestyle member deals and discounts featured on this website:
The offers are valid from 1 January to 31 December 2008, unless otherwise stated.
Bookings are essential.
Book directly with the establishment, identify yourself as an API Leisure & Lifestyle cardholder and verify your discount.
Upon arrival, present your membership card (and coupon from your directory in some instances for restaurants).
Establishments are not obliged to offer the discount if only the directory is presented. Offers within this directory are valid upon card presentation unless otherwise indicated.
All offers for accommodation bookings are subject to availability. When booking you must mention ‘API’ and where indicated quote the appropriate code.
Your discount rate will be applied to your final account. For restaurants the discount applies to your total food bill, unless otherwise stated. You may be required to show your card again prior to preparation of the account.
Some offers require a coupon for a ‘once off’ discount. Where this is required, it will be clearly stated in the listing and the coupons can be found on page 233 of your 2008 directory. Coupon is to be presented prior to preparation of the account.
The two for one or buy one get one free restaurant deals entitle the cardholder to a complimentary main meal. If the prices of the two main courses are different, the lower priced meal is free, up to the value indicated.
Where the restaurant provides a ‘percentage off offer’, the API Leisure & Lifestyle card entitles the cardholder, their partner and dependant children only to that percentage off, up to the value stated on the restaurant listing. Check the individual restaurant listing for any exclusions.
Maximum number of cardholders per table is two unless otherwise stated.
The offers listed are not valid for special event days including but not restricted to school holidays, public holidays, New Year’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Indy Carnival, Christmas and Easter, unless otherwise stated.
The offers are not valid with any other offer or promotion.

Several dining deals have been sourced in association with The Ambassador Card. Your membership card contains The Ambassador Card logo and you will need to show your card with this logo to take advantage of these offers. The following terms and conditions apply to these deals:
Ambassador dining deals cannot be used in conjunction with any other concessional, promotional or discount offer.
Ambassador dining deals can be used all year at restaurants except for Easter, Christmas Eve/Day, New Years Eve/Day, Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, Valentine’s Day unless otherwise indicated.
Limit of two membership cards per table unless otherwise specified.
Cardholder must be accompanied by at least one other person to be entitled to use the card.
When you are presented with the bill give your membership card to the waiter together with your payment.
When dining at a restaurant the benefit is one complimentary main course menu item, or the $ value indicated. When two main courses are ordered the restaurant will deduct the price of the least expensive main course from the bill. A maximum of two membership cards per group booking may be used, unless otherwise specified in the conditions. Please note that only one bill will be issued per table.
If a restaurant chooses to offer a saving on fixed price menu the relevant amount will be indicated in the conditions.
Entrees and child portions are not considered main course menu items.
